A Sampling of Outstanding Endurance Horses & Finishes

Tee Whiz PW was a phenomenal horse, was already Graded Stakes placed on the racetrack, then the winning three day rookie horse at the Biltmore ride. "After the Biltmore, I dropped him off at Delaware Park on my way back home, and I told trainer he was tired and to scratch him from a race he was entered in for that Tuesday. She didnt scratch him and I went to watch race and he WON!! That little 6 furlong race was a cinch for him after doing a three day 100... he was wonderful. He also won the ARAM Sahara Stake in Minnesota at Canterbury, after doing a 30 mile CTR. I felt like I won the Kentucky Derby."

AF Big Bucks (photo right, © Genie Stewart-Spears, GenieSS, Inc.) earned $32,383 on the racetrack, and now has completed 23 rides with an astounding 19 top tens. Even more extraordinary, he finished 1st in 14 of them with 3 best conditions. AF Big Bucks is Weidel's top endurance horse, multi-winner of several 50 and 55 mile endurance races and multi Best Condition earner. In his latest tie winning time of 5 hrs and 50 minutes, he also earned the prestigious award of BEST CONDITION by 31 points. This was the Goethe Forest ride in Florida with rider/farrier Mustafa from the India Team for the World Endurance Games.

Pam Weidel also won the USET Festival of Champions in 2003 on Mount Adams. He was an ex-racehorse that she originally bought for a dressage prospect, and he is still the reigning champion. "It was POURING cats and dogs that day... river rising and the race was shortened to 67 miles because of dangerous rivers they didn't want us to cross. My other horse Sambet I acquired off the California track was second with my visiting German rider."

Gotcha Covered PW (Wiking x Bygosh Bygolly) was a winning racehorse and now a very successful endurance horse and great with youths. He won the 2009 Triple Crown Junior Championship in endurance... at age 14. He was second at festival of champions in 2002 and got best condition over champion Valerie Kanavy's horse. Gotcha Covered PW also won the 2002 USET 55 mile Championship. See info about his dam ByGosh Bygolly and her foal.

Sambet was later sold to Stephen Rojek, who was named the recipient of the 2009 Maggy Price Endurance Excellence Award, given out annually to the Endurance Rider who earns the most points in a competition year at designated FEI Endurance competitions. He won the Ocala CEI3* with Sambet and had top 10 finishes at the Williston CEI2* and the Morriston CEI3* (both in Florida) and at the Chester CEI3* in Georgia.

Keep your eyes on a new endurance campaigner, Pam's homebred Getcha Good PW, with 2 firsts and a second finish out of his 4 rides, including a best condition.
